ArtAMID®6 Polyamide 6 is the most popular technical material with very good overall mechanical properties, relatively high working temperature and affordable price.

Advantages:

– very good tensile and flexural strength
– very good impact strength
– high stiffness
– relatively high work temperature (continous up to 100°C, short-term 160–170 °C)
– very good sliding properties and abrasion resistance
– very good surface finish even with glass fiber
– good chemical resistance to hydrocarbons
– PA6 reinforced with glass fiber (>30%) is a good, low weight metal replacement

Limitations:

– high water absorption
– poor chemical resistance to strong acids and bases
– requires drying before processing 

ArtAMID® PA6 plastics contain lubricating (release) agent and antioxidants for processing stabilization. Most types can be colored in mass and subjected to following modification:

UV – protected against UV radiation
HR – protected against high temperature
HI – high impact resistance
